I love watching reality court TV shows and I must admit that there are so many judges coming out of the woodwork, I can’t keep up with all of them. I watch my regular Judge Milian, Judge Joe and of course Judge Mathis. I turned on the TV a few days ago and I saw a judge who looked like a mockery for the gay community. It’s obvious that he is gay, but to be a bit over the top with Richard Simmons antics is a no-go. He’s trying to hard to use his gayness for laughs. Sorry, I’m not impressed. This judge will so not last another season.

I grew up on wearing uniforms to school in another country where I used to live so I was very happy to see that uniforms were introduced to schools in Hartford Connecticut last year. There were a lot of kids who were against it and I questioned if the uniform idea would last for very long. I’m sure glad that it did though. When kids don’t have to concentrate on what clothes they are going to wear to school or about trying to outshine their peers with their style of dress, that’s the time when they would take their education more seriously. Kudos to Mayor Eddie Perez on this one.

Although the convenience of shopping online is unmatched, it’s the high prices on the shipping and handling that is throwing me for a loop. I was trying to get a futon for the house at an online store and come to find out that I have to pay close to two hundred dollars extra for shipping and handling. That’s crazy! I could hire a dude with a truck for much less to take me to the store to get the futon.

Why do people wear eyeglasses anyway? Have you ever wondered about that? I wore glasses since I was ten years old and as I got into my thirties I still had to wear them. My vision was still not clear after all those years. So what was the purpose of getting glasses in the first place if after several years everything remained the same with my sight. So quite recently I woke up one morning and decided to get rid of the glasses. After all, all it ever does is to give you those unsightly dark marks on your nose bridge.

I walked outside this morning and I refused to believe that it was summer. It was so cold, the chill felt like we were in the middle of April. What’s next? Snow in August? Gotta love Connecticut’s weather. It’s very unpredictable.

Someone must have glued on Ms Beyonce’s wig too tight because it is apparently affecting her thought process especially when she could go on record by saying that she wishes she was born Latino. Unbelievable. I’m not racist by any means, but I really can’t imagine what’s going on inside her head.

Mineral Makeup is one of the latest must-have items in a woman’s pocketbook to date. It is a face cover-up, which serves as a foundation and powder but its lighter when applied to the face. It can make a woman’s face look flawless yet natural. There are some high-end mineral makeup available out there but the cheaper brands, forget it. I tried one of those from a lesser-known company and at the end of the session, my face was white as a ghost, I too was mortified by the way I looked. Lesson learnt, its best to invest in the more expensive products.

I’ve been following up that story about Pastor Weeks who allegedly physically assault his wife gospel singer Juanita Bynum and all I can say is “shame shame shame”. I remember watching their wedding on TV; I cried tears of joy over that wedding and even wished that mine had been that elaborate. Well I’m singing a different song now. If Pastor Weeks did commit this assault, I hope he gets the full brunt of the law for no man should be allowed to put his hands on a woman.

I’ve been meaning to get an indoor plant as my decorating scheme for the summer. I love the way plants make a home look inviting and calm. My only thing is that when it comes to a green thumb, I don’t have one of those. A lot of plants fell from grace under my care far too many times. Even my 2-year-old has done a bad job with plants; her method of destruction is to pour juice, tea, or anything liquids she can get her hands on in the plant’s roots.
So maybe a synthetic plant may be better for us after all. I’ll check Wal-Mart and see what options they’ve got.

Gotta love convenience but what good is a supermarket that is within walking distance from home when they’ve got high priced items on their shelves. If you go there and buy fifty dollars in groceries, by the middle of the month you still have to go back to there or elsewhere and spend $50 and even more. I got tired of seeing my money go down the drain so I decided to go to another supermarket where my $50 goes a very VERY long way.
