I read somewhere that foods such as mashed potatoes and apple pie are among the most fattening foods for the holidays.  Other foods like stuffing and holiday candy are also fattening agents. Not only food but warm cider has also made the list. Now that one blew me out of the water. Who knew?

I knew the day was coming when my husband and I would not see eye to eye on some issues concerning the baby. And the fact that we both come from two different cultures is not helping any. The latest is the fact that our daughter has to get dental treatment and while I want her to go get it done at the pedi-dentist, he thinks that she should go under in order to get the dental work done. I keep thinking that all of this is so uncessary. Our daughter is two. I mean wouldn’t she lose these teeth anyway. So we talk about this until we are blue in the face. And we are two strongheaded people standing our ground. I’m gonna eventually try to make him see things my way. Wish me luck.

I know my baby was born in the month of January, which makes her an Aquarius, but she’s taking her love for water too far. Every time her father and I take her out, she wants to remove all her clothing when she sees water. We took her to a Chinese restaurant a couple weeks ago and she was trying to remove her tee shirt in order to jump in. As if that wasn’t bad enough when we visited one of my friend’s office and she saw their small aquarium, she gave up all that she was holding in her hands and started to raise her tee-shirt. It was hilarious.

I absolutely love it when old friends get in touch with me via email. Especially if we have not spoken to each other in over two years or more. But I really do hate it when after such a long time these friends don’t care to ask how you’ve been but start filling your inbox with a series of jokes and chain letters. I have to seriously think about blocking these people.

This summer the heat has been more than I could bear so I came up with a solution while I go about my daily business in the sun. I bought a small purse-size bottle with a spray nozzle attached to it and filled it with water so every time I get out, and the heat gets unbearable, I spray some water on my face, neck and shoulders to cool down. It works. You should try it.

I took my baby to the dentist for the first time recently and I was told that she had a few cavities due to breastfeeding too much. Isn’t breastfeeding supposed to be good for kids? Anyway, that’s another subject. Since the baby could not even sit still in the chair for the initial checkup, they suggested that I take her to the local hospital for general anesthesia so that they could fill and repair her teeth. I am not comfortable about having my child put to sleep for so long. I get nervous thinking about that. And then too, before the operation, they would require that she not eat for eight hours. I have a problem with that one too. I mean is this all really necessary?

The talk on the Internet is about the woman who got her acronyms totally crossed up when she was interviewed as an eyewitness of an assault on a resident.

To quote the woman “the cops were beating him so badly I thought they would have to give him UPS, because I thought he was dead”. The lady was really trying to say CPR. The clip is all over youtube.com.

I love to eat at the local Hometown Buffet. They serve top of the line food at just one affordable price. If you are going to go there on Friday night the day that is designated for steak, then you are in some serious trouble. The lines on a Friday night way past the doorway leading outside and sometimes if you are really hungry, you won’t want to endure the line. I know some people who would wait patiently for this good food, but I’m not one of them.
