I work in a company of approximately 175 employees. I was recently invited to assist in hosting a party for the president of the company. She was getting married and also moving into a new home that her and her fiance just purchased together. She also has a two year old son from her previous marriage. This was going to be a combination of wedding shower and a house warming party. Everyone was so excited. There was one main problem for most of the people. Nobody knew many ideas for gifts to give them. I made the suggestion of many personalized gifts. I think they make wonderful gifts and there are so many different ones offered by many companies. They also make nice keepsakes. When a person receives a gift with there name, date or picture on them, they tend to keep them forever. They are very unique and different from any other. I had a blanket made with the baby son’s name on it. It was much nicer than just a plain blanket. I also shopped around with other businesses and companies and had a coffee cup made for the mom. I had it personalized with pictures of her and her son, a lot like a collage. It was very different and she loved it and will always keep that, along with the blanket. The groom was a little bit harder to buy for. I shopped everywhere I knew of that sold personalized gifts for him, too. I wanted him to have something from me that he would hopefully want to keep a long time, too. I bought him a clock for his office in his home with pictures of him, his girlfriend and her son added to it. It was pictures of outings they had been on together, and other fun times they all spent together. He loved it. Now, every time he gets busy working in his office, they can be with him, too. I truly believe personalized gifts are the best gifts to give and people always keep them for the memories they hold.

I had been sleeping on the same bed for many years. I decided to buy a complete new bedroom set, even though I only really needed a mattress and box springs. After getting home with the new set and putting it all together, I realized that I should have bought new pillows. I had already recently purchased a new comforter set. I went to another store and bought a set of new pillows. When returning home with them, I realized they looked too small for my bed. I had to make one more trip back to the store again to exchange them for a bigger size. I bought queen size pillows since I had a queen size bed. I never paid enough attention to the size. I only first paid attention to how it felt. It looks much better now with the right size pillows.

My daughter’s school held a fund raiser to raise money to purchase new band equipment. The function they held was a carnival. They set up numerous games to play, a cake walk, bake sale and sold popcorn, soft drinks and other food items. I was in charge of operating the popcorn machines. They weren’t the extremely large ones. They were commercial medium sized ones. It was unbelievable how easy and fast they worked. After the carnival was over, the cleanup was very easy, too. Since I had extra time, I helped others clean up their areas. The fund raiser ended up making twice as much as they needed, so more music was bought and the rest of the money was shared with other departments at our school.

A friend of mine has been looking around for Chevy grilles. He’s been wanting to add some accessories to his Chevy Tahoe for a while now but he hasen’t really had the spare cash. He recently received a nice little bonus from his office and he figured now is a better time than ever to pimp out his truck. Summer is right around the corner so it really is the perfect time. I wish I could afford to pimp out my truck.

My uncle works for a company that builds new homes. He only works part time as an assistant purchasing representative in buying the interior plumbing supplies. One of the items he purchases is fancy restroom and kitchen faucets. One of the latest faucets that he purchased for a home was one with a fancy brass handle with ivory on it. It was being installed on a pedestal style bathroom sink. After going to see it after it was installed, it was really beautiful. Just by adding fancier faucets to a sink, it can change the entire look of the room.

My uncle lives on a farm with horses. He rides them daily. He built all his barns and corrals himself. I never realized how much time and effort goes into taking care of horses until I started spending more time with him. Between grooming, shoeing, feeding and everything else there is to do physically, there really is a lot to do. He also has to be sure he has all the necessary supplies as well. I went shopping with him last week to buy new brushes, pitchfork for the hay, scoops to clean the stalls and much more. While we were out, he also shopped for two new saddles. It was unbelievable how many different styles there were to pick from. He bought a real nice leather brown one with a rare fancy design on it.

My cousin is getting married next month. I am going to be his Best Man in the wedding. He also is going to have 6 groomsmen. It is a rather large and expensive wedding so him and his girlfriend want everything to look the best possible. All the men in the wedding went to a men’s suit store and bought all the same suits that match. We are also all wearing gold cufflinks. I never wear cufflinks so didn’t realize how it dresses a suit up. Gold cufflinks would look good on almost all dress shirts in my opinion.

Our household has many different gaming consoles and systems that hook up to our televisions. The latest being the Playstation 3 system by Sony. It seems like we are always shopping for new games for different systems. You can often find used games reasonably priced in stores and on the internet. Sometimes, the games can be very expensive. If they are played enough, they are well worth the money. It is much cheaper staying at home playing these games rather than constantly spending more money going out and doing other things.

For my brothers birthday I picked him up some new 2008 DC skate shoes. He loves the DC brand and he has been wanting the new 2008 Rob Dyrdek shoe, so I know he’s going to love these. They cost me right around $65 at a local shoe store. I can’t really complain about the price, though. The shoes are made very well and every pair of shoes he gets always last him forever.

My son recently got hurt on one of the swing sets at his daycare. He was swinging and the chain broke, which caused him to fall to the ground. I reported it to the state we live in and they did an investigation and went to the daycare to check the complete playground out. I also had medical insurance I turned it into as well, to pay for all medical expenses. They needed a copy of the report from the state, too. The findings on the state’s report concluded that all the swing sets at the daycare center needed to be replaced. They were not up to the states code and were rusted in many places and falling apart. After all the swing sets were replaced, we never had any further problems.
