Every year I give my girlfriend the same type of gift of perfume. I know she loves fragrance and all but I thought that this year I would try to give her unique holiday gifts. She has a lot of jewelry so I saw this really cool sculptured jewelry tree that she can put them and display it instead of hiding them away in a jewelry box. Then I saw these really neat candle set that has a candle to represent each month of the year. They also have charms hanging from them and I know she would be blown away by this.

Christmas will be here before you know it. We’re all going to have Christmas dinner at my place this year, which means I have the responsibility of finding plenty of Christmas dinner recipes and getting everything fixed for a large family. I also need to have a few things that kids will eat. I’ve been looking online for some nice looking recipes that nobody will be expecting to have for Christmas dinner. Hopefully I can surprise everyone with some delicious and unique dishes.

My auto insurance payments really hit me at a bad time of the year. I always have to make my 2nd payment in early December, so I have to start putting money back for Christmas and my car insurance a few months in advance. I really need to start looking for a better car insurance company. I pay way too much money for mine, considering the year, make and model of my car. Friends of mine pay less than half what I pay and they have nicer cars and better coverage. Maybe Santa Clause will bring me a better car insurance policy for Christmas.

I posted yesterday about doing some early Christmas shopping. Today I found some nice Votive candle holders and some nice smelling candles for my girlfriend. She really loves candles and potpouri and anything that will make our house smell nice. I also found a couple picture frames that I plan on using for a few pictures I’m having blown up of when we were first dating. It’s little thoughtful gifts like this that you really can’t buy in any store. I hope she has a wonderful Christmas!

I’ve started doing my Christmas shopping a little early this year. I have plenty of gift ideas for my girlfriend. I just ordered her a brand new paella pan and some other kitchenware. She’s not really into gadgets or electronics like I am, so I really have to pay attention when she mentions things that she wouldn’t mind having. I always get her a couple pieces of jewelry, but I also like to have plenty of other presents for her to open. I love seeing her face on Christmas morning when she realizes that I HAVE been having attention to what she says.

It’s only approximately two months away from Halloween. We plan on having a costume party. We haven’t fully decided all the details of having it yet. We still have to decide if we want to rent a place to have it or have it at our own home. There are decorations to buy and all the treats and goodies. Until we decide on where we are going to have it and then decide on a time that is fitting for others, we are unable to begin to fill out the Halloween invitations. There are so many different Halloween invitations, too, so we are real excited to shop for them, along with everything else we need for our party.

My girlfriend gave me a nice USB flash drive as an early easter present this year. She knows that I love little gadgets like this and I was pretty surprised that she actually picked out a nice 4gb one. I’ve already used it to transfer some of the files from my home computer onto my work computer and vice versa. I love this little thing.

Here in the northeast is synonymous with bad winter weather. I was so expecting a drop in temperature as the winter approaches but it sure felt like summertime last week. Wow, I couldn’t believe it. It was hot and sticky. It would interesting to see what type of holiday weather we will be having. Real interesting.

I read somewhere that foods such as mashed potatoes and apple pie are among the most fattening foods for the holidays.  Other foods like stuffing and holiday candy are also fattening agents. Not only food but warm cider has also made the list. Now that one blew me out of the water. Who knew?

I know we are a little way off from that New Year’s day when we make resolutions but I’ve got one that I’m really itching to try for the coming year. One which involves staying off the Internet for a while. I must admit that the Internet is a very addictive thing for me. I use the Internet to make money but at times I find myself overstaying my time online, sometimes forsaking my motherly duties and household chores. This has got to stop.
