I’ve always wondered what the best diet pills are. You hear so much on the radio and see so many advertisements on television and in magazines, and they all claim to be the best diet pills ever created. One of my New Year’s resolutions was to loose 35 pounds by April, and I’m just not losing the weight as quick as I had hoped. I’m going to start reading real online reviews of various diet pills and give one a shot.

Last year my brother in-law had his house broken into while he and his family were on vacation nearly 2000 miles away. As soon as his alarm went off, he received a call on his cell phone from ADT’s customer monitoring center letting him know that his alarm was going off and they wanted to be sure everything was alright. My brother in-law informed them that they were on vacation and nobody was at the house. ADT alerted the local police and they were there within minutes. My brother in-law purchased his home security system from ADT right when they moved into the house. My sister told him that it was a waste of money because they moved to a “very safe neighborhood” and wouldn’t stop complaining about spending the money on a full home security system when they didn’t need one. Well, it turns out that even the safest neighborhoods still get houses broken into occasionally and that you can never be too safe. If they haden’t installed the alarm system, who knows what they would have came home to.

I can’t even imagine coming back from vacation to a trashed house with all of my family’s possessions and heirlooms gone. My sister now wants him to install security cameras on the house so that they can monitor them from any computer wherever they are. I’ve been thinking about installing cameras at my home for a while now, and I think I might go out and buy a full video surveillance system when I get my income tax check next month.

It seems like everyone I know has tried a few different weight loss products. Everyone is so concerned with their weight and looking perfect now. Almost every woman and a few of them men that I work with are currently taking some kind of dietary supplement or appetite suppressant right now. One of them is trying to lose weight because they can get cheap health insurance if they get down to a certain weight. I’m thinking about trying one of them, since it wouldn’t hurt me to lose about 15 pounds. We’ll see how it goes.

A friend of mine from college has been in and out of drug treatment centers for the better part of the last 20 years. I really wish he could get his life together, not only for his sake, but for his family as well. He’s got 3 kids and they barely even know him. His mother is always worried that she’s gonna find him dead in an alley one day and he doesn’t even seem to care. I really hope he can get his life on track soon.

Posting about my nephew made me think of a friend I had growing up. He was always a good kid when he was younger. He got good grades and never got into trouble. It wasn’t until he was about twenty three that he started experimenting with drugs and alcohol and really started to go downhill fast. He was in several different alcohol rehab and drug rehab programs and nothing seemed to work. One night he was driving around drunk. He ran through a red light and slammed into another car. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured, but my friend was sent into a drug rehab facility by order of the court. It took him almost 3 months to get clean.

My nephew recently checked himself into an addiction treatment facility. He has struggled with drug addiction and alcoholism for nearly 13 years and he finally was able to see that it was really affecting not only himself, but everyone who cares about him. I’m glad he was able to check himself into rehab before he was forced into it after breaking the law or anything. I wish him luck and hope he can clean his life up while he still has time.

I definitely have to get a new wardrobe for church. These fitted pants on my hour-glass shape just won’t do. The last time I went to church I felt like a complete sinner, I ran out as soon as service was over. My girlfriend was concerned afterwards, said that I should stay and mingle and that it’s ok to wear what I have. No way.  Lord knows I didn’t want to bring any temptation into His house. I haven’t been back to church since. That was six months ago. Go figure.

I absolutely love it when old friends get in touch with me via email. Especially if we have not spoken to each other in over two years or more. But I really do hate it when after such a long time these friends don’t care to ask how you’ve been but start filling your inbox with a series of jokes and chain letters. I have to seriously think about blocking these people.

Want to know what my biggest pet peeve is a gold digging woman. These are the women who get into relationships just so that they can get a man’s money. There is no love involved here, at least not for the man anyways. These women think that they are better than everyone else is but in actuality, they are just a step or two from a prostitute. Men be careful. Any signs of a gold digger RUN!

I was so appalled and concerned when I heard that actor Owen Wilson was admitted to the hospital for an alleged attempted suicide. He’s one of the funniest guys in the movie that I know why would anyone want to do that to him or herself. I mean it’s not as if he’s not getting called to star in movies or anything. Oh well, I guess having lots of money really can’t make some people happy.
